Matthew's 2nd Birthday Party

Cool, I'm 2

Matty turned 2 yesterday! What a big boy. He has come so far this year...he started crawling exactly 1 year ago, and now he is running all over the place and keeping us very busy! Here are some pics from this week, plus a pic from his birthday last year.

Getting Excited...

...for his 2nd birthday! It is so hard to believe that Matty turns 2 years old tomorrow. The past 2 years have really flown by and our little guy is growing up so fast. His party will be on Sunday, and he is already practicing holding up 2 fingers when we ask how old he is. What a big boy!

Choo Choo

Matthew received some new Thomas the Train pieces today from his buddy next door. He loves putting the trains together and pushing them around the track. He almost has the 'choo choo' sound down!

Rainy Weekend

The weekend was a complete washout, so Matty had to keep himself busy indoors. We went to the Blue Moose on Saturday night and sat next to a nice couple who had a baby girl. Matthew had fun waving, smiling, and talking to her across the tables. I think he may have been flirting a little bit!

Bed Head

Matthew woke up with this great 'do today! I tried to brush his hair down, but it had a mind of its own...

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was very fun! Matty picked out a special balloon, which he has been carrying around non-stop. We went out for a nice dinner on Saturday and then went to my parents' house on Sunday for a cookout. There were definitely a lot of people there who wanted to play with him!

Active

Matty always keeps us on our toes! He is the busiest little guy...either pushing his lawn mower, reading books, playing with trucks...and when he is outside, he is a sprinter. His Nana bought him a new Chuck truck yesterday, and he loves it! He carries it everywhere, as seen below. It is so nice to dress him in all of his new summer clothes ('active wear'), since he is always on the go!

March for Babies

Today, we attended the March for Babies walk which was held in the Power & Light District. We saw so many of our good friends and nurses from the NICU, it was like a mini-reunion! Matty had a ball playing with his friends...at one point, Matty and his buddies Roman & Marshall were all pushing the same stroller! It was a wonderful experience, to see so many little ones who had also been preemies and all of their families walking for the same great cause. We are truly thankful everyday for our little miracle man! Thanks again to everyone who donated to our team, it was a big success!
