Random Matty

Matty has always been afraid of the blue carpet cleaner vacuum...it is kept in the storage room in the basement, and he always tries to keep me away from the beast. Today, Jeremy got it out to clean the carpet in a couple of rooms, and Matty freaked out at first...he ran to me and held my hand and acted scared. However, he started to warm up to it and has since asked us to take the blue vacuum back out. I guess he conquered his fear!

One of Matty's favorite things to do on the weekend is to go with Jeremy to buy breakfast at McDonalds...he especially likes the hash browns. This morning, we asked him, 'Where did you get your potato?' He answered with 'ee-i-ee-i-oh'. Ha ha!

Busy Friday

Fridays are always busy around here...I usually go to the grocery store, change sheets, vacuum the entire house, do several loads of laundry, put gas in the car, not to mention the usual chores with the boys. Today, I finished everything, and both of the boys did not take naps. Oh well. They were both pretty cranky late this afternoon, so we drove around a little bit to find some diggers and bulldozers. Luckily, we found several along the way, and Matty was happy. Thank goodness for heavy machinery!

Busy Boys

The boys continue to keep me on my toes! We had nice weather over the weekend, so Matty was able to get outside and help Jeremy wash the cars (he loves holding the hose and helping with the vacuum), fly his kite with the neighbor kids, and we all were able to take a nice walk together. Zach had to go into the doc yesterday for 2 more shots, since we opted to have him on the delayed shot schedule. He was a trooper and only cried for a few minutes. Today, my Mom and I took them to the baby store, where Matty of course wanted to play with all of the toys...he picked out a new puzzle and playdoh, and Zach got some new teething rattles (thanks Mimi!)

Zach Update

Zach is now 5 1/2 months old, and I thought I'd write about some 'Zach facts':
* loves to put all toys, fingers, etc in his mouth...still waiting to see his first teeth!
* has really bad eczema...the new cream I bought seems to be working, and hopefully it will keep getting better as the weather gets warmer
* loves watching Matty at all times...especially likes when I hold him on Matty's back...he laughs so hard!
* can mostly hold his bottle by himself
* lately, has been getting up a lot in the night...I am chalking it up to either a growth spurt or teething
* loves to be outside
* rolls over whenever he is doing tummy time
* is wearing 9 mth and 12 mth clothing...I had to pack away all of the newborn - 6 mth clothes
* likes playing in his exersaucer or johnny jump-up...again, puts all of the toys in his mouth
* is a super smiley guy most of the time and...
* is growing up way too fast!

Outside!

It was almost 70 degrees today! I took the boys to the playground, where Matty made a couple of new friends. He had fun going down the slide, playing in the rocks...we had so much fun being outside!

Happy Valentine's Day

Week in Review

We have had another cold week and are still stuck inside...Jeremy was out of town for a few days, so it has been pretty crazy around here. Bedtime was the hardest...thankfully, my Mom came over to help with one of the nights. The boys had a great PAT visit on Wednesday...Matty is now officially jumping off of the ground (he has always refused in the past) and Zach picked some toys out of a bowl. I have heard that the weather is supposed to get better this coming week...fingers are definitely crossed! It would sure be nice to get outside a little bit!

5 Months

Superbowl

The boys are preparing for the big game tonight. We're all hoping for a Steeler victory!

We are having the 3rd significant snowfall of the season, but this time is definitely the worst. Lots of snow and wind...a pretty sight to watch out of the windows, but not fun at all being outside shoveling or walking Stan.
