'Tis the Season
The boys are so excited for Christmas this year. They are both enamored with lighted trees, ornaments, garlands, neighborhood houses decorated with lights...Matty even made me sew some little jingle bells on his elf Chippy. Every morning, they run from tree to tree in our house, asking for me to plug in the lights. Matty is hoping for a new bicycle and Zach would like an Umizoomi car (or as he calls it, an "um um" car). It is so much fun watching their childhood excitement!

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! The weather was beautiful, so the boys had fun playing outside in the morning.
Finally, we all enjoyed a yummy meal. This was the first Thanksgiving that Matty actually ate well and tried a variety of foods...he even ate olives and peppers. The boys loved the chocolate pie best of all. We are so thankful for many things, but most of all, we are very blessed to have such wonderful families.
Then, they continued playing outside once we arrived at my parents' house. Matty rode his John Deere tractor and Zach pushed his mower.
They love Poppo! |
They chose what food they wanted to eat. |
Seriously...this kid never used to eat "chunks"...now he's eating peppers?!? |
YUM! |

Catch Me If You Can
Zach is an extemely active 2-year old. He is constantly running around and exploring new things. We had a photo shoot this morning at South Lake Park, and he did not want to pose for any pictures. Matty, on the other hand, was a pro. So, we chased Zach around the lake, hoping that he would be still long enough for a couple of shots. I tried everything to get his attention...animal sounds, jumping around, even doing hand stands...those worked for awhile until he tried to stand on his hands too. Yikes! Therefore, we were all pretty exhausted once the photo shoot was finally over...my fingers are crossed that we got at least a couple of decent pics. Here are some shots of the crazy guy from the past week.

Dexter
Today is a sad day...we had to say goodbye to our family dog, Dexter. Dex turned 16 years old yesterday, and he was a wonderful dog and great companion to our entire family. We got Dexter when I was just a sophomore in college...when we drove to pick him up during my Christmas break in 1996, the breeder told us that they wouldn't accept a check...so, we quickly drove to the nearest ATM that we could find because we were so excited to bring him home. Dexter was an extremely sweet dog who was loved by everyone. We will miss you so much Dex. Here is a picture that I took of the little guy back in 2004.
