Happy Valentine's Day

Week in Review

We have had another cold week and are still stuck inside...Jeremy was out of town for a few days, so it has been pretty crazy around here. Bedtime was the hardest...thankfully, my Mom came over to help with one of the nights. The boys had a great PAT visit on Wednesday...Matty is now officially jumping off of the ground (he has always refused in the past) and Zach picked some toys out of a bowl. I have heard that the weather is supposed to get better this coming week...fingers are definitely crossed! It would sure be nice to get outside a little bit!

5 Months

Superbowl

The boys are preparing for the big game tonight. We're all hoping for a Steeler victory!

We are having the 3rd significant snowfall of the season, but this time is definitely the worst. Lots of snow and wind...a pretty sight to watch out of the windows, but not fun at all being outside shoveling or walking Stan. Here are some pics of the boys in the little tractor shirt...Matty's was taken in March '09.

New 'Do

Matty's hair was getting pretty shaggy, so he had a nice haircut yesterday. He still won't sit in one of the kiddie chairs by himself, but all in all, he did good. Zach is still working on growing his hair, so it will be awhile before he needs a haircut! Here are the before & after pics:

Taste of Spring

The temps for the past 2 days have been somewhat bearable, and a lot of the snow melted away...this is only supposed to last a little while longer before the next winter storm hits, but it has been such a nice relief from the long cold winter days. Jeremy has still been working long hours and Matty has been a bit under the weather this week. However, they are outside right now taking a walk which Matty loves!

Little Zach has turned into such an animated little guy. He loves talking back to us and is enjoying tummy time more and more!

Big Game

One of the boys' favorite teams is going to the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks. It's pretty ironic that the Steelers won the Super Bowl the year that Matty was a baby...maybe they can do it again for little Zach?

Snow Day

We had a bunch of snow yesterday, so Matty was able to help Jeremy shovel the driveway. Here he is, all bundled up before he went outside. Every time I looked out the window, it looked like he was having a ball!

4 Month Checkup

Zach had his 4 month checkup this morning (right before the huge snow storm started!) He did really well, even though he had to receive 2 shots & another dose of the oral roto. He weighed in at 14 lbs 14 oz (39%), and he was 25.2 inches long (49%). He's tracking really well on the growth chart, and I'm so happy. On a side note, we are supposed to receive around 9 inches of snow today/tonight, yikes!

Random Pics

Well, we are still stuck inside, trying to find things to keep the boys busy. Legos, books, blocks, trains, & trucks just don't seem very interesting when they have been played with time and time again. The winter is such a hard time for little kids...Matty was so used to going outside and running around and now can just look out of windows...come on spring! I am really looking forward to using my new double baby jogger stroller soon!

Keeping Busy

We had about 6 inches of snow yesterday, so we are really stuck inside now. I am having a hard time trying to figure out ways to keep both boys busy at the same time! Zach is happy as long as he has his hands, and Matty likes hanging out in my closet and Jeremy's closet...he especially likes to smell the perfumes and colognes. Here he is in Jeremy's closet...when he smells a scent that he likes, he says 'mmmmmmm'...I don't think that they make fragrances for little kids, but if they did, Matty would probably be a good customer!

4 Months

Little Zach turned 4 months old yesterday. He is growing up so fast! We didn't do much this week...we took down most of the Christmas decorations (of course not as fun as putting them up), and had a visit with my Grandma/pa Sisel. They met Zach for the first time, and Grandpa Frank played toys with Matty.

Busy Season

Jeremy started working his long work hours yesterday, which means long hours for me too. To top that off, both boys decided that they don't want to take naps anymore. Matty sits in his bed and talks to his stuffed animals and Zach cries whenever I put him down during the day. Yikes. The little guy has been crying now for 1.5 hours, including during Matty's dinner time. So, I have to find ways to entertain them. Matty enjoys riding his little 4-wheeler around the basement, and Zach has tried out the exersaucer...he does ok for awhile, but sometimes his head bobs forward. His neck muscles are getting stronger each day, so hopefully he will be able to stay in there for longer than 5 mins. We also celebrated my Mom's birthday over the weekend, and Matty thought that everyone was singing to him I think!

Happy New Year 2011

Happy new year to everyone! 2010 was definitely an eventful year for our family. We watched Matty grow into a full-fledged toddler and welcomed Zach in Sept. When I found out that I was expecting last Jan, I was very excited and nervous at the same time...so nervous, in fact, that I only told a few people the news and didn't write about the baby in this blog at all until he was born. I didn't want to have a repeat NICU experience, so we took every precaution...approx 20 doctor visits, numerous sonos, 14 non-stress tests, gestational diabetes monitoring, about 420 shots...and thankfully little Zach was born a full-term baby. We are so blessed for both boys, and we're looking forward to watching them develop & grow even more in 2011.
