Week in Review

We have had a pretty busy week. We went to one of our favorite places, the farm. Matty was enamored with the windchimes and Zach tried his very first drink through a straw!

And Ashlei brought over a mix for us to make homemade sidewalk chalk!

Weekend Highlights

Say Cheese

The boys had a photo shoot today at Kay's house. Kay took Matty's pics when he was about Zach's age, so I thought that it would be a good idea to have some professional shots of Zach taken now. We got to her house, went through the kitchen and then up to the photo room. Somewhere along the way, Matty freaked out and began screaming that he wanted to go back downstairs. I soon realized that we had passed a carpet cleaning machine (he used to be afraid of the one in our basement), and he was terrified. Luckily, my Mom was there and took him back downstairs while Zach had some pics taken. He did such a great job! Here are just a few: We then tried to take some pics downstairs, and Matty just wasn't into it. He wouldn't even sit on this cute little black and yellow couch. A few pics were taken of him in the front yard on the way out to the car, but he refused to smile in any of them. Oh well, at least little Zach behaved for most of the time...can't believe that he turned 7 months old today! Here are a few shots I took once we got home. They have these cute new yellow polo shirts, and it's a shame that Matty wouldn't pose next to his brother at her house. My pics are ok, I guess...

The Farm

The farmstead opened on April 1st, so we were there soon after! Matty met his friends Jameson and Melanie there for a picnic and lots of fun yesterday. They enjoyed the little red caboose, the chicken house, the cows, goats, and of course the windmills!

Hair Cut

I took Matty to get his hair cut today. He chose the purple jeep to sit in, and for the first time, I didn't have to hold him while his hair was getting cut...what a brave boy! He did a great job.

March of Dimes

We will be attending our 2nd March for Babies walk on May 1st. We are so excited to raise money once again for the March of Dimes. So many preemies just like Matty are here today because of the efforts of the MoD, so we really appreciate donations for this wonderful cause. Here are some pics of Matty while in the NICU (on a vent, a CPAP, and high-flow oxygen) as well as a pic of us from last year's walk. End of March Highlights

The weather turned cold again, so we have been stuck inside all week. The boys have been keeping busy (little Zach still is not sleeping well through the night)...and here are some pics from the week.

The boys still love to watch Elmo (Matty has been requesting the 'Elmo 2' video lately) . Matty chose funfetti cupcake mix and frosting at Target yesterday, which he helped me bake. Here he is after enjoying one of his sweet treats.

6 Month Checkup

Zach had his 6 month checkup today. He is 18 lbs 1 0z (51%) and 27.5 inches (77%). In just 2 months, he gained 3 lbs and over 2 inches (which is a 30% jump in height)! He is still waking up 2-3 times a night, which makes me feel like a walking zombie most of the time. We have tried elevating his mattress, gas drops, colic calm drops, a sound machine...nothing seems to be doing the trick. Very frustrating, especially since he used to sleep through the night. The doc said that this sleeping issue happens a lot at his age, but I hope it doesn't last much longer. I have been telling him that sleeping is fun, but I don't think he believes me.
