NICU reunion

We attended the annual OPR NICU reunion yesterday at the park behind the hospital. This is the 3rd one that we have been to since Matty was born. We had a great time talking with some of our old friends. It is so neat to see how far all of the summer '08 graduates have come since they were just tiny little ones. Matty was running all around with some of his good buddies and he enjoyed some yummy ice cream and cookies too. It was a bit surreal that we were all out having a great time in the gorgeous weather but right behind us there were 53 babies up in the NICU...hopefully, their family members gained some hope by looking out of the windows and seeing all of the graduates and their families celebrating life...

We were thrilled to bump into our favorite doc on the way out...Dr Stapley was with Matty in the delivery room and for his first few weeks of life. We owe so much to this wonderful man!
Zach didn't pose for any pics at the reunion, but we took one of him when we got home :)

Matty had fun at Kindermusik on Monday and Zach had a great Parents as Teachers appointment on Thursday. We all managed to stay busy as usual!

Dance Party

We attended our neighbor's 50th birthday party a few weeks ago, and Matty was the first one out on the dance floor. We met DJ Kirby there, and he was so impressed with Matty's dancing that he gave him his very own cd filled with hip hop music. Matty always asks for us to play this cd, and when the music starts, watch out...he turns into a dancing machine. Zach even joins in on the fun by doing some little dance moves of his own. The little guys definitely love to move and groove to the beat!

Touch a Truck

I took Matty to the BV Rec Touch a Truck on Saturday morning. We weren't able to attend the large one back in July since Matty was feeling under the weather, so I took him to this one instead. It was a little rainy, but that didn't stop him from running all around and going in different vehicles. He loved the fire truck, tractor, race car, cement truck, tow truck, limo, and army car just to name a few!

Arboretum

The weather was beautiful this morning, so we took a trip to the OP Arboretum. What a wonderful place to bring little ones! Matty had so much fun running around and exploring. He especially loved playing with the trucks in the rocks, finding all of the running water, walking around on the nature trails, and playing in some sprinklers. The highlight of the trip was when 2 deer came right next to us on the trail and didn't even run away! I don't think that I have ever been that close to deer before. We had a great morning!

End of Summer

We had perfect weather earlier this week before a crazy cold front moved in. I hope that I don't have to pack the summer clothes away yet!
