Fall Festival

We went to our neighborhood's annual Fall Festival yesterday afternoon. The weather was beautiful and the boys had a great time. Matty went in a bouncy house for a few minutes (then some big kids came in and he wanted out), and he also got a personal tour of a fire truck. They both liked listening to the band and playing with neighbor friends. And of course we had to ride the hayride two times...it was a very fun birthday afternoon for me!

Keeping Busy

The boys had another busy week! Time sure seems to fly when you're having fun.

Fun at the Park

I just love a beautiful fall day! The leaves are starting to change color and fall off the trees, and a crisp breeze was blowing. After Matty's haircut this morning, we took a walk to the park. Zach had so much fun going down the slides with Matty and laughing as Matty ran across the bridges. Stan even met a fellow dog friend there named Twix.

Pumpkin Patch

We drove out to Louisburg, KS this morning and visited the Powell Pumpkin Patch. The boys enjoyed the ride...so many trees, tractors, cows, & horses see along the highway! They chose 4 pumpkins and Matty wanted to pull them along in a little red wagon. We also went on a hayride, which was pulled by a large tractor. What a fun way to spend a beautiful October morning!

1 Year Checkup

Zach had his 1 year checkup this morning, and he did great. He only cried for a short time after receiving 2 shots. He weighed in at 23 lbs 7.6 oz (51%) and was 31.5 inches long (85%). So, the little guy is still measuring in as a tall, lean machine! Here are some pics from earlier this week.

NICU reunion

We attended the annual OPR NICU reunion yesterday at the park behind the hospital. This is the 3rd one that we have been to since Matty was born. We had a great time talking with some of our old friends. It is so neat to see how far all of the summer '08 graduates have come since they were just tiny little ones. Matty was running all around with some of his good buddies and he enjoyed some yummy ice cream and cookies too. It was a bit surreal that we were all out having a great time in the gorgeous weather but right behind us there were 53 babies up in the NICU...hopefully, their family members gained some hope by looking out of the windows and seeing all of the graduates and their families celebrating life...

We were thrilled to bump into our favorite doc on the way out...Dr Stapley was with Matty in the delivery room and for his first few weeks of life. We owe so much to this wonderful man!
