Kid of the Week

Matty is currently the kid of the week at school.  We worked on his poster yesterday and he chose some toys to bring in for show and tell today.  Zach and I stayed for Matty's presentation...he did great!  He showed his poster to the class and told about his favorite color (orange) & song (DJ Kirby dance mix).  He also shared some of his favorite things to do (help wash cars and ride bikes) and some of his favorite things.  A highlight was when he said that he liked iPads, but that the picture on his poster looked more like an iPhone!  He showed his friends his blower, weed eater, and road ripper car.  Zach enjoyed watching his brother as well as playing with some markers.  Matty did a great job as Kid of the Week!
Zach was excited to go in the classroom.

Easter

We had a very nice Easter weekend.  We had dinner at my Grandma's house on Saturday night, where the boys had fun playing with their Great Uncles, Aunt, and grandparents.  The boys woke up Sunday morning and found their Easter eggs and enjoyed some early morning chocolate from the Easter bunny.  Then, we went to noon mass and came home to ride bikes for a little while.  We finished the day off with a great dinner and another egg hunt at my parents' house.
Yea!  A chocolate bunny sucker!

This way to the eggs!
Zach had us re-hide the eggs over and over.
He loved his pop rockets.

Easter Eggs

The boys had fun coloring their Easter eggs this morning.  Matty mixed some of the colors together and accidentally turned some of the eggs a brownish color...but overall, the egg basket was very colorful at the end!

Easter Egg Hunt

Matty's school had an Easter egg hunt today.  It was supposed to be outside in the church courtyard, but due to the snow it was held in the school commons instead.  I helped other moms scatter the eggs all around...since there weren't many hiding spots, it was definitely an easy egg hunt for the kids.  The school kids ran into the commons, collected their eggs, then took class pictures.  Zach also had a blast running around and picking up eggs.  It's a good thing that he didn't realize that there was candy inside!

Cold Spring

The groundhog was wrong...it is technically spring now, but we are still having winter weather!  It snowed about 8 inches last night and we are once again stuck inside trying to keep busy by...
playing the iPad,

lounging around in pj's watching a show, and
making bunny cookies for Easter!

Spring Break

This spring break week has hardly felt like spring...it is freezing outside and snow is supposedly on its way tomorrow!  We met Jeremy for lunch yesterday at Panera and stayed warm today by taking a trip to the mall with my Mom.  The boys had so much fun at the Disney Store, on the escalators, and were able to wave hello to the Easter bunny.  They both refused to go on the carousel, which is strange because they have been on different ones before.  We finished off the morning with a yummy lunch at a new restaurant called Cheddars, which had a large aquarium and a huge fan over our table.  What a fun morning!

Warm Days

Today it is cold and rainy, but we did have two nice weather days on Thursday and Friday.  The boys put shorts on for the first day this year and we went to the park...we were only there about 5 minutes when Matty tripped and fell down.  So, we turned right around and went back home to fix his 2 skinned knees...what a fitting way to start spring!  We also played in the sprinklers and went on several walks.  We all hope the nice weather returns soon!

It was 75 degrees out but we still had snow in the yard!
They love the sprinklers.

2 1/2 Year Checkup

The pediatrician's office recently created a new well check visit at 30 months...when I heard about this at Zach's 2 year checkup, the nurse said it was because a lot of developmental milestones are hit between ages 2 and 3...hmmm.  Anyhow, I took Zach to his 2 1/2 year checkup this morning.  He started crying the minute we reached the parking lot and kept screaming that he was all done.  Other than his hysterical fit, he did great.

Zach's 2 1/2 year stats:

Weight: 30 lbs (52%).  He gained 2 lbs 8 oz since September, and is still right in the middle for weight, which is great.

Height: 37.75 inches (85%).  He grew 1.55 inches since September, and is still a tall boy for his age!
