First Baseball Game

Zach had his first game this morning.  He did great!  He got 3 hits and hustled after the ball while playing in the infield.

Last Day of 1st Grade

Matty had his last day of school yesterday.  Zach and I went to his classroom on Thursday to bring gifts and treats for his teacher, as she is retiring this year.  After school was out, the boys were invited to a party, where they had fun with silly string, bubbles, and summer treats!

Last Day of Preschool

Zach had his last day of school on Thursday.  He is really excited to go to kindergarten next year, which will be at the same school as Matty!

May Crowning

I taught Matty's 1st grade religious ed class this year, and Zach always came along as my 'helper'.  We had our last class a couple of weeks ago, and celebrated a May crowning mass.  Here is a picture of the Blessed Mother after all of the kids offered their flowers.

Preschool Graduation

Zach had his preschool graduation this morning (just a few days early).  He received a diploma and his end of year binder.  We finished out the celebration with an indoor picnic, since it was raining outside!

90th Birthday

We celebrated my grandpa Frank's 90th birthday on Saturday afternoon.  It was nice to see my cousins, as they traveled in from all over the country for the occasion.

Early Celebration

Matty celebrated his birthday at school yesterday a couple of weeks early.  He brought cupcakes and got to wear a special hat all day!

We ate at our favorite restaurant, Barley's last night before they closed for business.  We always enjoyed eating there!  Guess we need to find a new favorite food spot.

Zach's baseball team will be wearing Royals hats with their uniforms this season!

Zach had the class 'pet' at home this week, and we took pictures for the journal book.

KC Zoo

Matty's 1st grade went on a field trip to the zoo on Thursday.  I volunteered to go, and Zach was lucky enough to play hooky from his school so that he could go too!  We had to walk a lot and didn't see very many animals, but the kids had a great time.

The penguins were a hit.

Matty had an all school Earth Day picnic this afternoon.  It was a gorgeous day to celebrate!

It's hard to believe that Zach will be a kindergartener next year!  He had roundup today...he was pretty upset at first and didn't want to go back to a classroom, but when I picked him up, he was smiling and having fun.
