Playground & Pumpkins

One of Matty's favorite hangouts is the playground near our house. He loves running over the bridges, through the tunnels, and going down the slides. Today, we also went to buy some pumpkins for the front yard. Matty had a great time running around, while Zach decided to sleep!

3 Weeks Old

Things have been so busy around here, I haven't had a chance to post for an entire week! The little guy is changing so much, I want to make sure that I capture as much as I can. I am still trying to get the boys on to a schedule. Zach is getting up about 3-4 times a night, but usually goes back to sleep inbetween. Matty is sleeping better, although he still occasionally gets up once a night. Matty is also saying a bunch of new words every day. Yesterday, I took him to the playground and he started repeating words related to the playset. Zach loves his bouncy seat and the play yard, and still sleeps pretty much through the afternoons. Wish he would turn this around and do it at night!

2 Weeks Old

Zachary is 2 weeks old today, and is doing well. He is a very good baby...only cries when he is hungry or wet, and is content just to look around and observe. Matty is still intrigued by the baby. He likes to stroke the baby's hands or kiss him on the head. We are trying to teach him to be gentle, which he understands most of the time. Zach has already spent some time in the play yard. He is pretty good at turning his head from side to side.

Erik's Wedding

My brother Erik got married last night, and we are so proud of him! Luckily, my in-laws were in town from PA to help out with the little ones. The festivities started on Thursday night with the church practice and the rehearsal dinner at Brio's. The wedding and reception at the Intercontinental Hotel were on Satuday. Matty was the ring bearer, and he did a great job! He walked down the aisle all by himself! He looked pretty darn cute in his little tuxedo. We had a great time at the reception too. Luckily, I was able to fit into my bridesmaid dress! We had fun catching up with friends and family. Congrats Erik & Stephanie!

NICU reunion

We attended our 2nd annual NICU reunion on Saturday afternoon. Since the weather was nice, we brought both boys out for an hour of fun. Matty tried a donut, cookie, and ice cream, and enjoyed running all around and saying hello to our nurse and doctor friends. Here he is with his friend Jameson and his Mommy (who was one of his wonderful nurses) and his friend Adrian (who was his next door neighbor in the NICU). We had a great time!

Welcome Zachary Thomas

Our scheduled c-section was Tuesday afternoon, so we arrived a bit early to check in. Zachary Thomas Sherman was born at 2:27pm, weighing in at 6 lbs 12.5 oz with a length of 18.75 inches. It was so amazing to hear the little guy screaming as soon as he came into the world. He has dark hair and eyes and has been such a good baby. So far, he really loves to sleep! We came home from the hospital today and have been settling in since. Matty is enamored with his new brother. He is very gentle around him and loves to kiss his head. We are very blessed!

Fun Day

Matty had a busy, fun day today. He started off the day by taking a long walk with Jeremy all the way from our house to Nall. The little guy loves to run! I'm thinking that he might take after me and enjoy track someday. Then, we took him to the mall where he rode the carousel for the first time. He chose a blue horse (of course) and enjoyed it for the first few times around. Then, I think he got a little bored and decided that he wanted off. We went to the Disney Store next, where he chose a Halloween costume (Nemo) and a little blue car. The day finished with a yummy dinner at Macaroni Grill with Mimi, Popo, Ashlei & Charles. Matty ate chicken strips and french fries, which are of course his favorite.
