The skies were still very sunny as we started the drive, however, dark clouds started rolling in when we neared downtown. We had heard that there could be storms later in the afternoon, but had heard nothing about 9am! Then, the rain started to fall as we pulled into the parking garage. We got all the way to the Sprint Center before the heavens decided to open up and a huge storm moved in! Luckily, we had a picture taken before we had to run to shelter under a tent.
So, we hung out in the tent for a bit, but finally decided to bolt for the parking garage once the lightning started. I felt so bad for all of the families who were there just like us, excited to walk for such a great cause. I even saw a lot of teeny babies there and knew that they had probably had very recent NICU stays. We were bummed that we weren't able to see any of our friends but were happy that we made it home safe and sound!

That is so awesome that your family participates in this walk every year! Too bad the weather did not cooperate though. Send some thunderstorms our way...I miss them!
