Swimming Lessons

The boys have been attending swimming lessons for the past 2 weeks, and they both passed their classes this morning!  Matty passed 2nd Wave and Zach passed Preschool 2.  They were able to go down the water slides and jump off the diving board at the end of their classes.  Great job boys!

Check-ups

The boys had their yearly well check-ups on Wednesday afternoon.  Zach had to have 2 of his kindergarten shots, and he freaked out.  At one point, they were both screaming...Zach because he was afraid to get his shots and Matty because he supposedly couldn't stand the noise from Zach.  Great time for sure!

Matty's 7 year stats:

weight: 60 lbs (83%)...he gained 11 lbs this year.

height: 50 inches (83%)...he grew 2.25 inches this year.

Zach's 5 year stats:

weight: 38 lbs (33%)...he gained 6 lbs this year.

height: 43 inches (62%)...he grew 1.75 inches this year and continues to be a tall, thin boy!

I found this picture of Zach that was taken at his preschool last fall.  The new school year for both boys is quickly approaching, and they are getting excited!

Rivalry Game

We went to the Royals / Pirates game last night.  Even though the wrong team won in the end, we had a great time!  2 games are left in the series, so we're anxiously awaiting tonight's match up.

Neighborhood Party

We went to our HOT neighborhood party last night.  We had dinner, and then the boys played different games with their friends...remote control boats, musical chairs and a frozen t-shirt relay.  We had fun but were glad to get back to our air conditioned house!

Movie with Friends

The temperature was right around 100 degrees today, so we met some of the boys' friends (Tristen, William, Cameron & Eli) for a movie.  They saw Turbo and had a great time!

Teeth

Matty hasn't lost a tooth for over a year, and he lost 2 teeth in the past 3 days!  I pulled a lower one out on Wednesday night and an upper one fell out last night at dinner.  The tooth fairy has been busy!

Last Baseball Game

The Lakewood Lions had their last baseball game today, on a very hot afternoon.  Matt had a nice hit to end out the season!  Then, the team enjoyed some ice cream at Orange Leaf and received their trophies.

Missing the Beach

New Store

The boys had fun exploring the new Scheels store this week.  They rode the ferris wheel, watched the fish swim around the giant aquarium, and were fascinated by the talking Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson figures.  I'm sure we'll be back soon!

Vacation - day 8

We spent a lot of time at the beach for our last day of vacation.  We went back to Baumhower's for dinner, and then walked around the USA celebration at the Wharf.  There was a choir and many military vehicles to see.  The boys were able to climb on a jeep that was used in the Vietnam war, and was also featured in the movie Selma.  We had a great trip and made many fun memories at the beach!

Vacation - day 7

We spent more time at the beach and pool on Thursday.  I finally brought the "good" camera down to the beach so I could get some better pics of the boys.  We ate dinner at a famous pizza place called Papa Rocco's, and then walked around the nearby souvenir shops.
