Summer Cut

3rd Swim Meet

Last night, Matty had a swim meet at Nicklaus Golf Club.  He swam in 5 events.  He was asked to fill into the medley relay for 9-10 year old boys, and he did great!  He swam freestyle in the anchor position, and his team got 3rd place!  His freestyle relay also got 2nd place!  He did a great job and looked really strong.

Matty's team hosted Nottingham Forest South yesterday on a very hot summer night.  Matty swam the same 3 races that he did last week.  His relay team was the #62 race, and then the meet was called off right afterwards due to lightning. He found out today that his relay team got 3rd place!

Baseball Weekend

Matty had 2 games this weekend and Zach had 1...and it was super hot and humid.  The boys were troopers!  They also had their team pictures taken.

1st Swim Meet

Matty signed up for the LionsGate neighborhood swim team this year.  He goes to practice on weekdays from 8am-9am and then has swim meets on Wednesday nights.  Last night, his team hosted the Mills Farm swim team.  Matty swam in 3 events...the 25M freestyle, 25M backstroke, and 100M freestyle relay.  He did great!  His last event didn't take place until after 9pm, but you'd never know it was past his bedtime.  His team ended up winning the meet even though the other team had 30 extra swimmers!

Check-ups

The boys had their yearly well check-ups yesterday afternoon.  Zach had to have the last 2 kindergarten shots, and it took myself and 2 nurses to hold him down!  Good thing that Matty opted to wait out in the hallway until he was finished.

Matty's 8 year stats:

weight: 68.8 lbs (86%)...he gained 8.8 lbs this year.

height: 54.25 inches (94%)...he grew 4.25 inches this year.

Zach's 6 year stats:

weight: 41 lbs (27%)...he gained 3 lbs this year.

height: 45.5 inches (66%)...he grew 2.5 inches this year and continues to be a tall, thin boy!
