Worlds of Fun

We took our yearly trip to Worlds of Fun yesterday.  The weather was great and the boys had a fun time.  Zach was a little timid in the morning, but started enjoying the rides more after lunch.  Matty rode a lot of the rides in Planet Snoopy by himself this year, and he also went on a 'big guy' ride...the Flying Dutchman!  I remember riding that same ride when I was about his same age.  Matty is already asking when we can go back to the park again!

Matty's 5th Birthday

We had Matty's 5th birthday party here on Sunday afternoon.  He received so many nice gifts...lots of cute summer clothes, chain saws, squirt guns, plungers, sprinkler toy, mister fans, large airplane glider, bubble guns, & crayon maker.  He had yummy ice cream cake plus angry birds cupcakes!  What a fun day!

Matty Turns 5!

I cannot believe that Matty turned 5 years old on Sunday!  Even though he is growing up before our eyes every day, he will always be our little 1 pound peanut.  Happy birthday buddy!

The Turtle

We were playing in the front yard today, and I noticed that there was a turtle right in the middle of the street. I quickly picked him up and brought him to our yard.  Every time the boys would get close to the turtle, it would pop back into its shell.  Finally, they left it alone and it escaped to the backyard.

Last Day of School

I cannot believe that today was Matty's last day of school...this year really flew by!  He received his diploma and then we were able to join his class for a popsicle party outside.  I don't think he understands yet that he is on summer break...he has already asked me a couple of times if he has school again tomorrow.  He had a great first year of school and we are looking forward to a fun summer and then starting his last year of preschool next fall!

Visit to Erik's House

Yesterday, we visited Erik for a little while and the boys had a blast!  They rode on the big John Deere tractor, played in the sprinklers, watched Erik (and me) catch a few fish in the pond, jumped on the trampoline...so much to do and so much fun!

Backyard Fun

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, with temps reaching into the low 90's.  What better way to spend the afternoon than to play with water?  We filled up the kiddie pool, hooked up the ball sprinkler, used the new animal plungers and shot water guns!

Side note...here is the mother bird who built her nest on a speaker on our back porch!  We witnessed her feeding her babies a worm, but I couldn't snap that picture quick enough.
