Chilly Fun

Stop taking pictures of me, Mom!

Family History

We visited my Grandma earlier this week, and she showed us a big box of items from the past.  It was fun looking through letters, drawings and cards that my siblings and I had made when we were kids.  I also found the birth certificate of my great great Grandpa Anello, who was born in Italy in 1873. His first name was Thomas...my Grandma's brother is also named Thomas, and Zach's middle name is Thomas.  What a wonderful piece of family history that shows the tradition of Zach's middle name!

School

It is hard to believe that Matty's preschool days are almost over.  Last week, I attended a kindergarten parents' meeting at his future elementary school, Lakewood.  The principal and kindergarten teachers spoke and the amount of information that he will learn next year is mind boggling for sure!  In the meantime, Matty has been practicing on some sight words and his writing.  Today, he worked on some numbers and then we decorated a shamrock for a school project.

Pics From the Week

The weather has FINALLY been nicer this week, so we have been able to play outside!  The boys have enjoyed playing music through the back deck and porch speakers.

Home Depot Fun

Zach had fun shopping with me this morning while Matty was at school!  It's fun to have a little shopping buddy.

Happy Birthday Poppo!

Angry Birds

My Grandma gave the boys these cute Angry Birds sweatshirts for Valentine's Day...they love them!

Back to School (finally!)

Matty only went to school one day last week, due to the snow storm and a teacher in-service day.  He was really excited to go back this morning to see all of his friends!

Haircut

I have tried to get Zach's hair cut at a salon a couple different times, but he always made a scene.  So, I have been his 'stylist' even though I don't know what I'm doing.  Today, we took the boys to the hair cut shop and tried to get Zach excited for someone else to cut his hair.  He acted really confident...almost TOO confident, and I was sure that he wouldn't go through with it.  However, when his name was called first, he went right over to the chair, sat down, and let the lady put a gown on him.  He didn't make a peep and did a great job!  I guess it took a family outing to the shop for him to come around!
The before shot.

He did it...he didn't even flinch when the clippers were used for his side burns!

Snow Days

Yesterday, we received a foot of snow!  Plus, it was super cold outside.  We somehow managed to stay busy...first, we baked M&M cookies.  Then:
Matty had a writing lesson,
the boys found some old sunglasses and pretended they were spies,

and we finally went outside!  Brrrrrr.

Matty's school was canceled today, our road hasn't been plowed yet, and it is even colder outside than yesterday.  So, we have been stuck inside ALL DAY.  We made some play-doh birthday cupcakes, danced to some tunes...the weather is supposed to be even colder tomorrow, yikes!  Can't wait until spring gets here!

Super Bowl

Even though our Chiefs & Steelers weren't playing in the big game, the boys enjoyed a fun Super Bowl dinner last night!

The Nut Job

We took 2 nutty boys to see the Nut Job movie yesterday morning!
